About us

T.E.A.C.H. MISSION

The East New York Arts and Civics High School is dedicated to equipping students with the skills to become positive contributors to their communities. T.E.A.C.H. students will cultivate a thirst for knowledge, compassion for others, and the bravery needed to effect the changes they wish to see in the world.

T.E.A.C.H. VISION

Every student will graduate within four years with an established post-secondary plan, showcasing their knowledge and skills needed to pursue college, start a career, and make positive contributions to their community.

COMMIT

  • Every student will show a dedication to their academic achievement.
  • This commitment is reflected in the school through maintaining an attendance rate of at least 90% or higher throughout the year.
  • The wolf is fiercely loyal to its pack. There are instances where a wolf will risk its own life to protect a member of its pack from harm.

COMMUNICATE

All students will cultivate the abilities necessary for effective communication, ensuring that desired outcomes are achieved in all situations and circumstances. This is demonstrated in school through students consistently reading, writing, and speaking in an effective and appropriate manner. The wolf exhibits one of the most distinctive methods of communication. A solitary wolf howls to draw the attention of its pack, while coordinated howls can convey territorial messages between different packs. Additionally, some howls are intended to be confrontational. Communication among wolves takes on various forms.

Collaborate

Every student will develop the ability to work together successfully in both academic and social environments. This is demonstrated at school by students collaborating effectively on academic tasks in the classroom and interacting positively in social situations outside of it. Wolves exemplify the power of collaboration. They hunt in packs and rely on teamwork to catch their prey.

CREATE

All students will apply the skills and knowledge they have gained to foster positive experiences for themselves and their community. This is demonstrated in school by students consistently staying on track for graduation and successfully completing high school within four years while developing a comprehensive college and career plan.
